First Post! Interview with Russ Hennings!

Russ Hennings is a surf photographer from San Clemente, California.  I first saw his work on Surfline – the most comprehensive surf-related website on the internet – and loved it.  When I became interested in surf photography, I was hesitant to tell people because of its mainstream connotations.  Luckily, there are photographers like Russ who really drive at the heart of the sport – its connection with nature, the ocean, travel, adventure, harmony, and a genuine love of life.  That’s what I want to do!

Surf photography is such a unique branch of the medium; how did you find your footing as a surf photographer?

Well, Surfing has always been a passion of mine. At first, when I was around 11, I dreamed of being a professional surfer. My dreams were quickly halted when I actually tried surfing!
